The Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, has got varieties of energies, as it is confirmed in the Vedic literature. Par\u0101sya \u015baktir<\/em> vividhaiva \u015bruyate. Na tasya k\u0101rya\u1e41 kara\u1e47a\u1e41 ca vidyate<\/em>. The Supreme Lord has nothing to do personally. Na tasya k\u0101ryam<\/em>. He has nothing to do. Just like here in this material world we find some very big man, political head or business head; personally, he has nothing to do. Because he has got so many assistants, secretaries, that personally he hasn\u2019t got to do anything. Similarly, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, full with six opulences, why He will have to do something? No. He has got many assistants. Sarvata\u1e25 p\u0101\u1e47i-p\u0101das<\/em> tat<\/em>. In the Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101:<\/em> \u201cHe has got everywhere His hands and legs.\u201d You\u2019ll find K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, He has nothing to do. He\u2019s simply engaged in enjoyment with gop\u012bs<\/em> and R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b. He\u2019s not engaged in killing the demons. When K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a kills the demons He\u2019s Vasudeva K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a; He\u2019s not original K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a expands Himself. First expansion is Baladeva. From Baladeva\u2014Sa\u1e45kar\u1e63a\u1e47a, Pradyumna, Aniruddha, V\u0101sudeva. So by the V\u0101sudeva feature He acts in Mathur\u0101 and Dv\u0101rak\u0101. But K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a in His original feature, He remains in V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana. One of the greatest fiction writers in Bengal, Bankimchandra Chatterjee, he misunderstood K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a that K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a of V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana, K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a of Dv\u0101rak\u0101, and K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a of Mathur\u0101, They\u2019re different persons. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a (is) the same, one, but He can expand Himself in millions and trillions of forms. Advaitam acyutam an\u0101dim ananta-r\u016bpam \u0101dya\u1e41<\/em> pur\u0101\u1e47a-puru\u1e63am<\/em> (Bs. 5.33). Advaita<\/em>. Although ananta-r\u016bpam<\/em>, still, He\u2019s \u0101dya\u1e41 pur\u0101\u1e47a-puru\u1e63am, advaita<\/em>. There is no such distinction.<\/p>\n manu\u1e63y\u0101\u1e47\u0101\u1e41 sahasre\u1e63u<\/em> ka\u015bcid yatati siddhaye<\/em> yatat\u0101m api siddh\u0101n\u0101\u1e41<\/em> ka\u015bcin m\u0101\u1e41 vetti tattvata\u1e25<\/em> (Bg. 7.3)<\/p>\n Out of millions of persons, one may try to make his life perfect. Everyone is working like animal. There\u2019s no question of perfection of life. The animal propensities: eating, sleeping, mating and defending\u2026 So everyone is engaged like animals. They have no other business, just like animal, hogs, dogs, whole day and night working: \u201cWhere is stool? Where is stool?\u201d And as soon as he gets some stool, gets some fat, \u201cWhere is sex? Where is sex?\u201d No consideration of mother or sister. This is hog\u2019s life.<\/p>\n So human life is not meant for hog civilization. So modern civilization is hog civilization, although it is polished with shirt and coat. So, we shall try to understand. This K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness movement is for understanding K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. For understanding K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, it requires little labor, austerity, penance. Tapasya brahmac\u0101rye\u1e47a<\/em> \u015bamena damena ca. Tapasya<\/em>. One has to undergo tapasya<\/em>; brahmac\u0101rya<\/em>, celibacy. Tapasya. Brahmac\u0101rya<\/em> means stopping sex life or controlling sex life. Brahmac\u0101rya<\/em>. Therefore Vedic civilization is, from the very beginning, to train the boys to become brahmac\u0101r\u012b<\/em>, celibacy. Not that modern days, the schools, boys and girls, ten years, twelve years, they\u2019re enjoying. The brain is spoiled. They cannot understand higher things. The brain tissues are lost. So without becoming brahmac\u0101r\u012b<\/em>, nobody can understand spiritual life. Tapasya brahmac\u0101rye\u1e47a \u015bamena damena ca. \u015aama<\/em> means controlling the senses, controlling the mind; damena<\/em>, controlling the senses; ty\u0101gena<\/em>; \u015baucena<\/em>, cleanliness; ty\u0101ga, ty\u0101ga<\/em> means charity. These are the processes for understanding oneself, self- realization. But in this age it is very difficult to undergo all these processes. Practically it is impossible. Therefore Lord Caitanya, K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a Himself, has made Himself easily available by one process:<\/p>\n harer n\u0101ma harer n\u0101ma harer n\u0101maiva kevalam<\/em> kalau n\u0101sty eva n\u0101sty eva n\u0101sty eva gatir anyath\u0101<\/em> (Adi 17.21)<\/p>\n So, these are the perfection of life, not that teeny, floating sputnik. (laughter) They do not know what is perfection of life. You can go anywhere. A living entity\u2019s name is sarva-ga\u1e25. Sarva-ga\u1e25<\/em> means \u201cone who can go anywhere he likes.\u201d Just N\u0101rada Muni. N\u0101rada Muni can travel anywhere he likes, either in the spiritual world or in the material world. So you can also do that. There is possibility. There was a Durv\u0101s\u0101 Muni, great yogi. Within one year he traveled all over the universe and went to Vi\u1e63\u1e47uloka and again came back. That is recorded in the history. So these are the perfections of life. And how these perfection can be attained? By understanding K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. Yasmin<\/em> vij\u00f1\u0101te sarvam eva vij\u00f1\u0101ta\u1e41 bhavanti<\/em>. The Upani\u1e63ad<\/em> says, if you simply understand K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, then all these things can be understood very easily. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness is such a nice thing.<\/p>\n R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b\u2026, today is R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b\u2019s appearance day. So we should try to understand R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b\u2019s feature. R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is the pleasure potency, hl\u0101din\u012b-\u015bakti. \u0100nandamayo \u2019bhy\u0101s\u0101t<\/em>. In the Ved\u0101nta-s\u016btra<\/em> the Absolute Truth is described as \u0101nandamaya<\/em>, always in pleasure potency. That \u0101nandamaya<\/em> potency\u2026 Just like \u0101nanda<\/em>. When you want \u0101nanda<\/em>, pleasure, you cannot have it alone. Alone, you cannot enjoy. When you are in the circles of friend or family or other associates, you feel pleasure. Just like I am speaking. The speaking is very pleasing when there are many persons here. I cannot speak alone here. That is not \u0101nanda<\/em>. I can speak here at night, dead of night, nobody here. That is not \u0101nanda. \u0100nanda<\/em> means there must be others. So because K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, the Absolute Truth, is \u0101nandamaya<\/em>, therefore eko bahu sy\u0101m<\/em>, He has become many. We are also K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a\u2019s part and parcel, to give pleasure to K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. And the chief pleasure potency is R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b.<\/p>\n r\u0101dh\u0101-k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-pra\u1e47aya-vik\u1e5btir hl\u0101din\u012b-\u015baktir asm\u0101d<\/em> ek\u0101tm\u0101n\u0101v api bhuvo (pur\u0101) deha-bhedo-gatau tau<\/em> caitany\u0101khya\u1e41 praka\u1e6dam adhun\u0101 tad-dvaya\u1e41 caikyam \u0101pta\u1e41<\/em> r\u0101dh\u0101-bh\u0101va-(dyuti)-suvalita\u1e41 naumi k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-svar\u016bpam<\/em> (Cc. Adi 1.5)<\/p>\n So K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is Param Brahman, as you know from the Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101<\/em>. When Arjuna understood Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101<\/em>, he affirmed K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, para\u1e41<\/em> brahma para\u1e41 dh\u0101ma pavitra\u1e41 parama\u1e41 bhav\u0101n<\/em> (Bg. 10.12) So K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is Param Brahman. So in this material world we see that a great, saintly person, simply to enjoy brahm\u0101nanda<\/em>, he gives up everything of material enjoyment. He becomes sanny\u0101s\u012b. Aha\u1e41<\/em> brahm\u0101smi<\/em>. Just to understand that he is in Brahman realization. So if one has to give up everything material for Brahman realization, do you think that Para\u1e41 Brahman, the Supreme Brahman, can enjoy anything material? No. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a\u2019s enjoyment is nothing material. This point should be understood. For Brahman realization we are giving up everything material. And how Para\u1e41 Brahman can enjoy anything material? This question has been very much nicely discussed by J\u012bva Gosv\u0101m\u012b.<\/p>\n So when the Param Brahman\u2026 First of all, the Param Brahman information is not there in this material world. Little Brahman information is there. Or little Param\u0101tm\u0101 information is there. But not Param Brahman, or Bhagav\u0101n, information. Therefore it is said, manu\u1e63y\u0101\u1e47\u0101\u1e41 sahasre\u1e63u ka\u015bcid yatati siddhaye<\/em> (Bg. 7.3). Siddhaye<\/em> means to understand Brahman or Param\u0101tm\u0101. But out of many such persons who have realized Brahman and Param\u0101tm\u0101, hardly a person can know K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. And that\u2026 First of all\u2026 [break] \u2026what we can understand about K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a\u2019s pleasure potency? If I want to know some big man. That is one process. And without knowing that big man, how I can understand about his internal affairs? Similarly, if we do not understand K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, how we can understand how K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is enjoying? That is not possible. But the Gosv\u0101m\u012bs, they\u2019re giving us information what is the pleasure potency of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. That is \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b.<\/p>\n So we have described about the R\u0101dh\u0101-K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a loving affairs in our Teachings of Lord Caitanya<\/em> in page 264. If you have got this book, you can read it, how the reciprocation of loving affairs of R\u0101dh\u0101- K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is there, transcendental. So our today prayer to R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b\u2026 We pray to R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b because She is the pleasure potency of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a<\/em> means \u201call-attractive.\u201d But R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is so great that She attracts K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is all-attractive, and She is attractive (attractor) of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. So what is the position of \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b? We should try to understand this day and offer our obeisances to R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b. So this K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, when He wants to enjoy, what kind of enjoyment He will have? That has been discussed by \u015ar\u012bla J\u012bva Gosv\u0101m\u012b. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is Para\u1e41 Brahman. Brahman, Param\u0101tm\u0101, then Para\u1e41 Brahman. Absolute Truth, three different features. Someone is realizing the Absolute Truth as impersonal Brahman. Jnanis<\/em>, those who are trying to understand the Absolute Truth by mental speculation, by dint of his own knowledge, he\u2019s realizing the Absolute Truth as impersonal Brahman. And those who are trying to understand the Absolute Truth by meditation, yogis, they realize the Absolute Truth as Param\u0101tm\u0101. Param\u0101tm\u0101 is situated in everyone\u2019s heart. \u012a\u015bvara\u1e25<\/em> sarva-bh\u016bt\u0101n\u0101\u1e41 h\u1e5bd-de\u015be \u2019rjuna ti\u1e63\u1e6dhati<\/em> (Bg. 18.61). That feature, Param\u0101tm\u0101 feature. A\u1e47\u1e0dantara-stha\u1e41 param\u0101nu-cay\u0101ntara-stha\u1e41<\/em> govindam \u0101di-puru\u1e63a\u1e41 tam aha\u1e41 bhaj\u0101mi<\/em>. That Param\u0101tm\u0101 feature is one expansion of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. It is stated in the Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101, athav\u0101<\/em> bahunaitena ki\u1e41 j\u00f1\u0101tena tav\u0101rjuna ek\u0101\u1e41\u1e63ena vi\u1e63\u1e6dabhy\u0101ham.<\/em> Ek\u0101\u1e41\u1e63ena<\/em>. When K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a and Arjuna was trying to understand about different potential existence of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, so He explained in the Twelfth Chapter, \u201cI am this. Amongst them, I am this. Amongst them\u2026\u201d Like that. And He concluded that \u201cHow far I shall go on? Better try to understand that only one plenary portion of Me, by entering this universe, the whole cosmic manifestation is existing.\u201d Ek\u0101\u1e41\u1e63ena sthito jagat. Jagat<\/em>. This material world is existing on one plenary portion of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. And K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a enters, a\u1e47\u1e0d\u0101ntara-stha\u1e41<\/em> param\u0101nu-cay\u0101ntara-stham<\/em>, He enters within this universe. Without His entering, this universe cannot exist. Just like without the spirit soul\u2019s entering within this body, this body cannot exist. As soon as the spirit soul goes out, immediately the body\u2019s useless. However the body may be prime minister or anything else, as soon as the soul is out of this body, it is not worth even a farthing. Similarly, because K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a enters within this universe, therefore the universe has value. Otherwise it is simply a lump of matter; it has no value. Ek\u0101\u1e41\u1e63ena sthito jagat<\/em>.<\/p>\n![\"krishna](\"http:\/\/mayapurvoice.com\/svagatam\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/krishna-with-gopis.jpg\")
<\/a>So try to understand K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. And when K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a want to enjoy, what kind of enjoyment that shall be? Try to understand this point. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is so great; God is great, everyone knows. So when the great wants to enjoy, then what quality of enjoyment that should be? That is to be understood. R\u0101dh\u0101-k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a\u2026<\/em> Therefore Svar\u016bpa D\u0101modara Gosv\u0101m\u012b has written a verse, r\u0101dh\u0101-k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-pra\u1e47aya-vik\u1e5bti\u1e25<\/em>. The loving affairs of R\u0101dh\u0101 and K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is not ordinary, these material loving affairs, although it appears like that. But one who cannot understand K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, avaj\u0101nanti m\u0101\u1e41 m\u016b\u1e0dh\u0101\u1e25. M\u016b\u1e0dha<\/em>, rascals, fools, they understand K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a as ordinary man. As soon as we take K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a as one of us\u2026 M\u0101nu\u1e63\u012b\u1e41 tanum \u0101\u015brit\u0101\u1e41, para\u1e41 bh\u0101vam aj\u0101nanta\u1e25<\/em>. These rascals, they do not know para\u1e41 bhavam<\/em>. They try to imitate K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a\u2019s l\u012bl\u0101, r\u0101sa-l\u012bl\u0101<\/em>. There are many rascals. So these things are going on. There is no understanding of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. To understand K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is very difficult.<\/p>\n<\/a>In this age, Kali-yuga\u2026 Kali-yuga is considered to be the most fallen age. We are thinking that we are making very much advance, but it is the most fallen age. Because people are becoming like animals. As the animals have no other interest than four principles of bodily necessities\u2014eating, sleeping, mating and defending\u2014so in this age people are interested with four principles of bodily want. They have no information of the soul, neither they are prepared to realize what is soul. That is the defect of this age. But human form of life is especially meant for realizing himself, \u201cWhat I am?\u201d That is the mission of human life. Ath\u0101to brahma jij\u00f1\u0101s\u0101<\/em>. This life is meant for inquiring about Brahman. Brahman, Param\u0101tm\u0101, Bhagav\u0101n. These inquiries should be there. Jij\u00f1\u0101su<\/em>. They are called jij\u00f1\u0101su, brahma-<\/em> jij\u00f1\u0101sa, jij\u00f1\u0101su<\/em>, inquiry. As we inquire every morning, \u201cWhat is the news today?\u201d Immediately we pick newspaper. That inquisitiveness is there. But we are inquiring very base things only. There is no desire to inquire about the highest possibility, brahma-j\u00f1\u0101na<\/em>. That is the lack of this modern civilization. Inquiring how to earn money: div\u0101<\/em> c\u0101rthehay\u0101 r\u0101jan ku\u1e6dumba-bhara\u1e47ena v\u0101<\/em> (SB 2.1.3) Not only in this age\u2026 In this age it has become the principal factor, but in this material world everyone is engaged simply for these bodily necessities of life. Nidray\u0101 h\u1e5biyate naktam:<\/em> at night they sleep very sound sleep, snoring. Or sex life. Nidray\u0101 h\u1e5biyate nakta\u1e41 vyav\u0101yena<\/em> ca v\u0101 vaya\u1e25<\/em> (SB 2.1.3). In this way they\u2019re wasting time. And at daytime, div\u0101 c\u0101rthehay\u0101 r\u0101jan\u2026<\/em> And during daytime, \u201cWhere is money? Where is money? Where is money?\u201d Artha ih\u0101ya. Ku\u1e6dumba-<\/em> bhara\u1e47ena v\u0101<\/em>. And as soon as one gets money, then how to purchase things for family, that\u2019s all. Shopping, storing. This is the engagement of materialistic life. Out of that, one who is actually intelligent\u2026 Manu\u1e63y\u0101\u1e47\u0101\u1e41 sahasre\u1e63u ka\u015bcid yatati siddhaye<\/em> (Bg. 7.3). Out of many such foolish persons engaged in sleeping, mating, earning money, and providing family with nice apartment and food\u2026 This is the general occupation. So out of many thousands of men like that, one is inquisitive how to make perfect this human form of life. Manu\u1e63y\u0101\u1e47\u0101\u1e41 sahasre\u1e63u ka\u015bcid yatati siddhaye<\/em>.<\/p>\nSiddhaye. Siddhi means perfection. So this life is meant for perfection. What is perfection? Perfection means that we do not want miserable condition of life, and we have to get out of it. That is perfection. Everyone is trying to get out of miserable condition of life. But they do not know what is the actual position of miserable life. Miserable condition of life: tri-t\u0101pa-yantana\u1e25<\/em>. So this is called mukti<\/em>, or liberation, from the misera\u2026 \u0100tyantika-du\u1e25kha-niv\u1e5btti\u1e25.<\/em> Du\u1e25kha, du\u1e25kha<\/em> means distress. So everybody is trying to get out of distress. But he does not know what is the ultimate goal of getting out of distress. Na te vidu\u1e25<\/em>. They do not know. Na te vidu\u1e25 sv\u0101rtha-<\/em> gati\u1e41 hi vi\u1e63\u1e47um<\/em> (SB 7.5.31). One can be out of distress when he approaches Vi\u1e63\u1e47u. Tad vi\u1e63\u1e47u\u1e41 parama\u1e41 pada\u1e41 sada pa\u015byanti<\/em> s\u016braya\u1e25. Tad vi\u1e63\u1e47o\u1e25 parama\u1e41 padam<\/em>. The Vi\u1e63\u1e47u planet\u2026 Just like here in the material world they\u2019re trying to go to the moon planet, but these foolish people do not know what they\u2019ll gain even they go to the moon planet. It is one of the material planets. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a has already said in the Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101, abrahma-bhuvan\u0101l lok\u0101n<\/em>. What to speak of this moon planet\u2014it is very near\u2014even if you go to the topmost planet, which is known as Brahmaloka\u2026 That is in your front, you can see every day, every night, how many lokas<\/em> and planets are there. But you cannot go there. You are simply trying to go to the nearest planet. That is also failure. So what is your scientific improvement? But there is<\/em> possibility. \u0100-brahma-bhuvan\u0101l<\/em> lok\u0101n<\/em>. You can go. The material scientists\u2019 calculation is that if one goes forward for forty thousands of years in the light speed, light- year speed, then one can approach the topmost planet of this material world. So at least in the modern scientific calculation, it is impossible. But one can go; there is process. That we have tried to explain in our small booklet Easy Journey to Other Planets<\/em>. By yogic process one can go any planet he likes. That is the yogic perfection. When a yogi becomes perfect, he can go to any planet he likes, and the yoga practice goes on, unless the yogi thinks himself that he has made himself perfect to travel to any planet he likes. That is perfection of yoga practice.<\/p>\nSo today, this evening, we are talking about R\u0101dh\u0101\u1e63\u1e6dam\u012b. We are trying to understand the chief potency of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is the pleasure potency of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. As we understand from Vedic literature, K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a has many varieties of potencies. Par\u0101sya \u015baktir vividhaiva<\/em> \u015bruyate<\/em>. Just like the same example, as a big man has got many assistants and secretaries so that he hasn\u2019t got to do anything personally, simply by his will everything is done, similarly, the Supreme Personality of Godhead has got varieties of energies, and everything is being done so nicely. Just like this material energy. This material world, where we are now living\u2026 This is called material energy. Bahir-a\u1e45ga-\u015bakti<\/em>. The Sanskrit name is bahir-a\u1e45ga<\/em>, external energy of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. So how nicely it is being done, everything in the material energy. That is also explained in the Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101,<\/em> may\u0101dhyak\u1e63e\u1e47a prak\u1e5bti\u1e25 s\u016byate sa-car\u0101caram:<\/em> (Bg. 9.10) \u201cUnder My superintendence the material energy is working.\u201d The material energy is not blind. It is\u2026 On the background there is K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. May\u0101dhyak\u1e63e\u1e47a prak\u1e5bti\u1e25<\/em> (Bg. 9.10). Prak\u1e5bti<\/em> means this material energy. Similarly\u2026 This is external energy. Similarly, there is another energy, which is internal energy. By the internal energy the spiritual world is being manifested. Par\u0101s tasm\u0101t tu bhava\u1e25 anya\u1e25<\/em> (Bg. 8.20) Another energy, par\u0101<\/em>, superior, transcendental, the spiritual world.
