As we move throughout our daily lives, it\u2019s evident in conversations, behaviors, the news, social media, etc. that there is a growing sense of unrest in the US. So many people feel as if they are in crisis and are looking for answers on how to stay calm in a crisis.<\/p>\n<p>This crisis management mode creates tension, anxiety, nervousness, restlessness, fear, and uncertainty.\u00a0 In the healing system <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vedichealing.com\/about\/about-ayurveda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of Ayurveda<\/a>, These are classical symptoms of an imbalance of Vata <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vedichealing.com\/whats-a-dosha-in-ayurveda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dosha<\/a>. Vata is the energy of movement. Too much movement is destabilizing, both physically and mentally.\u00a0 The mind can\u2019t stop racing and it\u2019s difficult to stay still. You feel as if there is something which you should be doing, but you\u2019re not sure what.\u00a0 And it\u2019s not a simple task to stay motivated or on task. You doubt yourself and become filled with a sense of dread. How do you get off this cycle? After all, how can you make a difference when you are so ungrounded?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some simple suggestions for how to stay calm in a crisis: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vedichealing.com\/about\/about-ayurveda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ayurvedic way<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5470\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vedichealing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/trees_nature_grass_sky_art_97117_602x339-300x169.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vedichealing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/trees_nature_grass_sky_art_97117_602x339-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.vedichealing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/trees_nature_grass_sky_art_97117_602x339.jpg 602w\" alt=\"trees_nature_grass_sky_art_97117_602x339\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>\u2013 Don\u2019t multi-task.\u00a0 The more that you try and do at once, the more that Vata gets elevated and you actually become more scattered.\u00a0 So instead of getting more done at once, you actually accomplish less.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Eat warm, cooked foods.\u00a0 Ayurveda operates on the tenant of \u201clike increases like\u201d.\u00a0 Warm, cooked foods fortify the body, giving it strength and solidity to move forward with proper motion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Stop snacking on crunchy, dry foods.\u00a0 They keep the body in motion via habitually snacking and then creating gas and indigestion as these foods are difficult to digest. Intestinal discomfort will create constipation and the feeling of being \u201cstuck\u201d.\u00a0 Take some <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2fUiX6X\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">herbal supplements<\/a> to support your digestive tract, so that you can feel empowered to act.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Do an oil massage before shower with a warming body oil such as <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1AFd38Z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ashwagandha<\/a>or a <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2fI83hN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vata balancing oil<\/a>.\u00a0 That dryness you are feeling internally is also a physical manifestation.\u00a0\u00a0 Want to get your creative juices flowing?\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to do if you are feeling dry and uninspired. That dryness manifests from the inside out when it comes to your skin.\u00a0 Doing a warm oil massage allows the oil to penetrate into the tissues and create more suppleness and freedom of being.\u00a0 Constriction will become a distant thought.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Increased Vata creates anxiety, fear, tremors, ticks, spasms, nervousness, and insomnia. Sit quietly, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. You may wish to repeat a mantra.
