Earlier we said in this article that earthquake is not an accident. We also repeat, without being indifferent to those affected by it in Myanmar today and elsewhere during some other time, that earthquakes are more of a well calculated action by the agents of nature in order to keep the earth safe, in balance, and to also flush out some due reactions in the form of natural calamities in exchange of sins committed on the planet.
BNO News reported: A powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 has struck northwest Myanmar, centered near Mawlaik and Mandalay, according to seismologists. CTV News had to say this: A strong earthquake struck Burma on Wednesday night and was felt in parts of eastern India and Bangladesh, causing residents to rush out of their homes in panic. You will soon hear more about this earthquake in different newspapers and TV channels so I don’t want to get into all details here. Instead I want to ask you, my fellow human beings: do we realize that this is yet another wake up call from mother Earth?
The ongoing madness of human beings on the planet, drilling deep into the earth for oil, gold and other precious metals and minerals, pulling out other vital elements that maintain the orbital movements of the earth, testing nuclear weapons in deserts, firing powerful missiles with nuclear warheads deep into the ocean, causing tremendous environmental imbalance on the planet by replacing jungles with industries, and the horrendously barbaric killings of innocent animals, especially cows, are some of the visible actions that cause earthquakes, hailstorms, draughts, floods and such other natural calamities. It is an alert and punishment from mother nature who works under the direction of the Supreme Lord, the controller of the universe. Like it or not, have it clear that there is absolutely nothing automatic in the existence. Everything is operated by the intelligence of conscious beings. Not listening to such warning calls will he inviting more calamities and trying to find out reasons behind earthquakes without understanding the root causes, that is, unbearable sins committed on the planet, will be sheer foolishness. Less intelligent people may say that this is just a religious sentiment but assuming it is so, the question is, how much have we tried to understand natural calamities from religious point of view? If at the end of the day religious understanding can save the planet, why not accept it? Without doing enough in that regard none has to right to say that scriptural injunctions on how to live a safe and happy life on Earth don’t work. They have worked for millenniums and they do work even now. We simply need to keep our ears, eyes and intelligence open.
