It was just a couple of weeks back when the technical staff of ISKCON Mayapur’s Electricity department undertook installation of an ACB switch at Substation number 2, located near Gada bhavan. On the 1st of August again, the same team, led by Mr Jayanta Chatterjee, a young and enthusiastic technical supervisor from the nearby town of Krishnanagar, successfully carried out another, and this time even more crucial, operation at Substation number 1, which is located near Srila Prabhupada’s Puspa samadhi mandir.
As they were working, a personnel from Havells India Limited, Mr. Raj Kumar Ghosal, happened to visit Mayapur and saw how the team was engaged in installing the newly purchased 11KV VCB panel. This was not a small job to be done by ordinary electricians. He was surprised to see how Jayanta and his team, including a few senior colleagues like Sujit Debnath, Chandu Bairagi and Tapan Nath, were expertly carrying out the work in a safe and professional manner.
“Around 1pm, Mr Ghosal came to my office and expressed both his surprise and happiness at what he observed at the substation. He was visibly impressed by the work our department’s technicians were doing. He said it was the first time that he had seen regular technicians taking this level of interest in accomplishing a task meant to be done by outside professionals”- said Mr Das, the head of the electricity department at ISKCON Mayapur.
Here is what Mr Ghosal wrote in a letter after returning to Kolkata:
“WHILE VISITING ISKCON TEMPLE, MAYAPUR, ON 1/8/14, I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE TEAM WORK AND TEAM SPIRIT WHILE A GROUP OF MY YOUNGER BROTHERS WAS WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE COMMISSIONING OF THE 11KV VCB PANEL SUPPLIED BY OPG POWER SYSTEM –KOLKATA, IN THE PLACE OF AN OLD PANEL IN THE EXISTING SUBSTATION.
THE TEAM WAS LED BY MR.JAYANTA CHATTERJEE- ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT , WHO HAD TAKEN THE RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLETE THE JOB WITHIN SCHEDULED TIME AND WITHOUT DISTURBING THE EXISTING SYSTEM. 
ALL THE TEAM MEMBERS WERE DELIVERING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY INDIVIDUALLY AS PER THEIR COMMITMENT.
I WAS ASTONISHED TO SEE A FEW SIMPLE LOOKING PERSONS – HOW THEY HAD TAKEN UP THE CHALLENGING TASK JUST BASED ON THEIR SELF CONFIDENCE, EXPERIENCE, GOOD SPIRIT, AND WILL-FORCE, WITH THE BLESSING OF LORD KRISHNA. EVEN I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS TYPE OF TEAM WORK IN BIG & REPUTED INDUSTRIES ALSO.
