Although Chanakya, the great thinker and philosopher, also known as Chanakya Pandit, Rishi Chanakya, Acharya Chanakya, and Arya Chanakya, need no introduction, yet for those who do not know him, Sriman Chanakya pandit (370 BC – 283 BC) was an adviser and a prime minister to the first Maurya Emperor Chandragupta (c. 340-293 BC). Originally a professor of economics and political science at the ancient Takshashila University, Chanakya Pandit managed Chandragupta’s rise to power at a young age. Kautilya and Vishnugupta, the names by which the political treatise Arthashastra identifies its author, are traditionally identified with Chanakya. Some scholars consider him to be the pioneer economist of the world.
Taking inspiration from the fact that Srila Prabhupada has, at number of times, quoted Chanakya pandit in his lectures, conversations and books, Mayapur Voice is glad to announce the new series, “Says Chanakya Pandit”, to bring to you some of the famous quotes from Rishi Chanakya. We hope that by reading and applying them in life, the readers will benefit both spiritually and materially.
Since we will be collecting his quotes from difference sources available on the net and elsewhere, we request you to let us know if you find any discrepancy.
