Narrow escape as bridge collapses in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall

There are times when questions like “what if” sends shiver down the spine. Quite often when a bridge collapses the casualty runs in hundreds. In contrast, this video shows a dramatic escape from tragedy when a bridge collapsed in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh as there was no traffic on the bridge when it collapsed and the authorities took prompt action as soon as the news of the incident reached them.

The bridge, connecting Nurpur Tehsil in Himachal with Punjab, crumbled like a pack of cards and the dramatic visuals were captured on a mobile camera by an eye-itness.  According to reports, the bridge was 160-metre long.
